Machu Picchu is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a must-see wonder! I overnighted in Aguas Calientes to allow myself plenty of time to explore the Incan ruins. Traveling to Machu Picchu from Aguas Calientes is very easy since there is one bus line that runs up and down mountain every ten minutes, starting before the sun rises. The ride is 30 minutes long. If you’d rather hike, you can reach Machu Pichu in 2.5 hours from Aguas Calientes. I […]
I was a little nervous when I booked my TACA flight from Lima to Cusco, knowing city stands at the high elevation of 11,200 feet (3,400 meters). Parque Kennedy is at the heart of Miraflores. The park bustles with activity from morning ’til night, especially on holidays like Día del Trabajo (Labor Day) on May 1st. […]

Karen and I visited as many famous sites as we could fit into our four days in Rome—including Musei Capitolini and Musei Vaticani. The Historic Centre of Rome (the Properties of the Holy See in that City Enjoying Extraterritorial Rights and San Paolo Fuori le Mura) comprise a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Coliseum Romain Ruins Pantheon I loved wandering through the plazas and admiring art! We stopped for gelato every chance we could get. Plus, I found a cute shop that sold wooden […]
